Our educational path starts in the immediate vicinity of the CŠOD Rak Residential Centre with its first point at Kotel and then it runs along the left bank of the river Rak to the side entrance into the Weaver Cave. From there, the trail leads to a hidden point in the forest near the Rak Residential Centre where the circular trail ends.
You will be walking along a trail, a path, a little bit along a macadam road, but never through an area without a pathway.

The educational path runs through the valley of Rakov Škocjan located between the Planina and Cerknica fields. The disappearing river Rak flows through Rakov Škocjan. This river is the forerunner of the river Ljubljanica. This karst valley was created when the ceiling of underground halls and caves collapsed. Only the Small Natural Bridge and the Great Natural Bridge remained from the former arch. Rakov Škocjan is 2.5 km long, and it is a natural pearl of the Notranjska region. Since 1949, it has been protected as a regional park.
